About us
Scouting is open to all children and young people, aged between 6 and 25.
Explorers are the progression from Scouts, and accept young people between the ages of 14 to 18.
Scouting aims to provide young people with skills and experiences to enable them to be better citizens, and Scout training promotes equality, integrity, respect, co-operation, belief and care for each other, others, and the environment. One example would be First Aid training, which will effectively put trained young people on our streets, in our schools and colleges, which would be an asset to any community.
Scouting promotes better behavior, and ideals and standards for young people, and is a commitment they make to uphold the Scout Promise and Scout Law. Explorer Scouts also can join the Young Leader Scheme, assisting younger children in Scouting, and their commitment is benefitting the Cub and Beaver Packs with whom they work.
Equipment needs to be purchased to enable learning and fun activities to take place, such as camping equipment, as the outdoors and caring for our natural environment are part of the Scouting ethos.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Gainsborough District Explorers
